Aristos Fitness: Strength and Conditioning Coach / Fitness Professional

Aristos Fitness is an independent strength and conditioning gym, founded in 2015, with the aim of helping busy professionals excel through bespoke health and fitness coaching. We have an experienced and dynamic team of twelve practitioners and offer a range of programs to suit different individual preferences and circumstances; including personal training, individual strength and conditioning programs, adult and teen group strength and conditioning classes, physiotherapy, women’s health physiotherapy, massage, injury rehab, nutrition support, and Olympic weightlifting classes. We also deliver training and mentoring programs / workshops for both our Aristos team and external clients.

As part of our aims to achieve excellence in these programmes and further develop additional opportunities within the gym, we are seeking to recruit a Strength and Conditioning (S&C) Coach / Fitness Professional to deliver strength and conditioning coaching across our programs on a minimum of 3 days per week. The role will also include health, fitness and lifestyle coaching through consultations and goal review sessions with clients, as well as delivery into our Physio-led Injury Rehab and Conditioning program.

This position has been created for an individual who has the desire to develop coaching and technical knowledge as part of a holistic team of professionals and is dedicated to ongoing continued professional development.

Remuneration and Continued Professional Development:

This post is a self-employed position with variable coaching and consultation rates for different services, and with employment opportunities longer term.

The successful candidate will gain valuable experience working as part of a professional multidisciplinary team, internal CPD opportunities and financial contributions towards external CPD in line with personal development plans.

You will be given a uniform as well as have the opportunity to learn and be mentored by various members of the Aristos Team, who have a wealth of experience working within professional sport, the NHS, Universities and with a wide range of populations.

JOB DESCRIPTION

POST TITLE: Strength and Conditioning Coach / Fitness Professional

CONTRACT TYPE: Self-employed with the potential to become employed longer term

JOB PURPOSE:

To work under guidance from our Head Group Coach to deliver group strength and conditioning coaching for both adults and children. The role will involve assisting members with performance tracking and reviewing, goal setting, and body composition analysis through goal review sessions, as well as leading clients through our group induction program.

The role will also involve the delivery of our Aristos Physio-led Injury Rehab and Conditioning sessions, in conjunction with our Aristos Physiotherapy Team.

To develop oneself as an aspiring Strength and Conditioning Coach and progress within the role to gain the knowledge, skills, and experience to gain full-time employment within Aristos. Coaches will be provided with practical coaching experiences and responsibilities for leading elements of the prescription and delivery of Strength and Conditioning strategies, and will be expected to actively engage in a programme of continued professional development (CPD).

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to undertake individual and small group Personal Training as well as Nutrition Coaching in addition to the group S&C classes (with appropriate additional qualifications and certifications). Further opportunities also exist longer term to Coach athletes and professionals through our Aristos ID (Individual Design) program.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. With guidance from the Head Group S&C Coach, deliver individual and group strength and conditioning sessions for members and clients.
  1. Plan and prepare all classes and sessions in advance, and reflect / review all sessions afterwards to ensure continued development.
  1. Conduct regular goal review sessions and consultations with members and prospective clients within the gym, and guide them towards the optimal support programs / services to suit their individual goals and personal circumstances.
  1. Conduct body composition analysis as and when required as part of consultations using an InBody 270 Scan machine.
  1. Ensure members and clients are tracking progress and performance through our gym software to ensure optimal client progress and retention.
  1. Have direct communication with other members of our multi-disciplinary team regarding the content and delivery of the strength and conditioning programmes, the implementation of injury prevention / rehabilitation strategies and the development of a coordinated support system for clients.
  1. Assist with the delivery of the Physio-led Injury Rehab and Conditioning classes in conjunction with our Aristos Physiotherapy team.
  1. Work efficiently under the mentorship of the Head Group S&C Coach to work towards an agreed programme of CPD.
  1. Assist with the provision of client and coach education regarding key strength and conditioning / fitness / health principles.
  1. Maintain regular communication with other coaches and staff regarding member / client progress and performance. Ensure that there is clear understanding behind programme details.
  1. Ensure that the delivery of the strength and conditioning service effectively meets its commitments to athletes, coaches, national governing bodies and other external professional bodies.
  1. Be proactive with daily gym and facility maintenance duties.
  1. To wear kit provided when on shift and uphold the values and behaviours of Aristos Fitness at all times.
