About Strathspey Camanachd

Strathspey Camanachd is a community-based shinty club dedicated to promoting Scotland’s oldest sport across Grantown on Spey and the wider Strathspey area. We run youth teams from primary level up to U17s, a women’s team, and are working to re-establish a men’s section. Our vision is to make shinty accessible to everyone, regardless of age, gender, or financial background, and to use sport as a tool to improve health, wellbeing, and community connections.

Purpose of the Role

The Development Officer (DO) will be central to growing and sustaining shinty in Strathspey. Building on the successes of the past four years, the DO will focus on promoting junior shinty, expanding club membership across all ages, rebuilding the men’s section, and strengthening the women’s and youth teams. The DO will also support volunteers and coaches, coordinate with schools and partners, and help secure the club’s long-term sustainability through fundraising and grant opportunities.

The DO will report to a subcommittee and will be fully supported throughout the role.
