Coaches: Elevate Acro Gymnastics Club

Role We're looking for coaches of all levels to join our growing team and to coach and nurture gymnasts.

Salary: Hourly rate dependent on level of qualification and experience.

Hours of Work: Various shifts available across 7 days, including evenings and weekends.

Contract Type: Self-employed contract for coaching services

Location

We operate out of six locations, and our busy preschool and recreational classes run from West Calder Hub, One Mind Martial Arts centre in Polbeth and Gymtastic in Broxburn. Our competitive level gymnasts travel further afield.

Main Responsibilities

  • Deliver training sessions suitable for the skill level of the individual or group and ensure the safety of all athletes.
  • Instruct gymnasts and assistants on the proper techniques of acrobatics including tumbling, balancing, and performing.
  • Identify strengths and weaknesses of athletes and adjust coaching techniques accordingly.
  • Maintain a safe training environment and ensure all activities comply with health and safety regulations.
  • Motivate athletes and provide constructive feedback to improve their performance.
  • Prepare gymnasts for competitions and performances, including choreographing routines and selecting music, as required.
  • Monitor gymnasts' physical condition and mental well-being.
  • Communicate with athletes, parents, and other coaches regarding training schedules, competitions, and performance expectations.
  • Assist in the organization of events and competitions.
  • Conduct training sessions focused on endurance, strength, technique, and performance.
  • Monitor and assess athlete's performance and progress.
  • Stay updated with the latest developments in acrobatics and coaching techniques.
  • To maintain a good professional appearance and act as a role model to other staff.

Qualifications

  • Gymnastics Coaching qualification - all levels
  • Strong knowledge of acrobatics techniques and training methods.
  • Ability to demonstrate acrobatics moves and techniques.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience and the ability to motivate and inspire athletes.
  • Understanding of safety procedures and first aid.
  • Certified in HSE approved First Aid.
  • Must hold a current membership at the relevant coaching level with Scottish/British Gymnastics.
