About Us
Edinburgh South Community Football Club is the largest community football club in East Scotland, dedicated to fostering a love for football in our community. We provide high-quality coaching, promote active lifestyles, and create opportunities for all ages and abilities to enjoy the beautiful game. We're now looking to expand our team with a passionate and enthusiastic Part-Time Football Coach who will play a key role in our active school football sessions, afterschool clubs, and our Extra Time funding programme.
The Role
As a Part-Time Football Coach, you will be responsible for delivering engaging and dynamic football sessions across various schools in the Edinburgh South area. You will be a key figure in our afterschool clubs, ensuring that every child has a positive experience and develops their football skills. Additionally, you will have a vital role in our Extra Time funding programme, helping to enhance the reach and impact of our initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality football coaching sessions during school hours across multiple schools and facilities in the Edinburgh South area.
- Lead and manage afterschool football clubs, fostering a fun and inclusive environment for all participants.
- Actively contribute to the Extra Time programme, developing innovative ways to engage children and increase participation.
- Provide mentorship and support to young players, encouraging their development both on and off the pitch.
- Collaborate with school staff and club management to ensure the smooth delivery of sessions.
- Monitor and report on the progress of participants, ensuring alignment with the club's goals and values.
- Attend regular coaching meetings and participate in ongoing professional development.
Requirements - Proven experience in coaching football, particularly with children and young people.
- A valid football coaching qualification SFA Level 1.3 in the Children or Adults pathway (Or working towards).
- Strong communication skills and the ability to engage and motivate young players.
- A passion for football and a commitment to fostering a love for the game in the community.
- Flexibility to work during school hours, afternoons, and occasional weekends.
- A valid PVG (Protecting Vulnerable Groups) certificate or willingness to obtain one.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with strong organisational skills. What We Offer
