Head of Performance & Pathway Development: basketballscotland

Base: Hybrid (Edinburgh Office 1-2 day(s) per-week)

Salary: £42,000 - £47,000 starting salary, depending on experience

The Head of Performance & Pathway Development is a key role in the Senior Management Team at basketballscotland. Leading an experienced team, the postholder will assume responsibility for the support and development of our players, coaches, and officials, as well as the delivery and innovation of our competition and talent pathways.

Key, early tasks for this role will be to lead on the planning and delivery of the 3x3 Basketball competition at the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games, from a basketballscotland perspective – including competition kit design, selection policy and process, and pre-games planning for all 4 teams. In addition to this, the post holder must lead a root-and-branch review of our people development, talent development and competition pathway strategies, with a focus on innovating and modernising our approach.

The role is required to work closely and effectively with other departments across the organisation, and wider sporting network, and is pivotal in maintaining our partnerships with the Caledonia Gladiators, British Basketball Federation, FIBA, Home Country Basketball Associations, Domestic Regional Associations, sportscotland, Team Scotland and other key partners.

This is not a coaching role, and the post-holder must demonstrate a deep understanding and experience of strategic development of sport, people, talent, and competition structures.
