What sport are you involved in and what is it that you love about it?

I currently play hockey at school and also for my local club. I love playing in a team with lots of my good friends and also the chance to meet new people through matches and events! I also really enjoy coaching the juniors and helping them to improve!

What motivated you to be part of the Young People’s Sport Panel?

My motivation for being a part of the YPSP was to help and raise awareness about the link between mental health and sport.

What do you think are (some of) the big challenges facing young people in Scotland today?

In my opinion, some of the biggest challenges facing young people in sport at the moment is maintaining a balance between a busy work schedule and training. The effect this can have on someone’s mental health is really serious and can impact someone’s training as well as their work!

How do you think sport can help support young people in Scotland?

I think sport can help young people in Scotland as it gives you a separate community and a complete break from anything else that’s on your mind.

Is there a role model who inspires you? What is it about them that you admire?

My role model is Kate Richardson-Walsh as she captained England and Great Britain for 13 years, and is capped 375 times for Great Britain. Kate Richardson-Walsh is also a brilliant example for women and girls in sport!
