Mel Young, Chair of sportscotland, said:
“While we will always make a strong case for investment into sport, we do recognise the challenging economic climate and the difficult decisions that must be made.
“We will now work closely with our Scottish Government colleagues to understand the implications that this revised budget will have for sportscotland and our partners.
“We welcome the Scottish Government’s assurance that the commitment to double the budget for sport over the course of the parliament remains in place. We will continue to focus on inclusion as we know that sport and physical activity make a significant contribution to a thriving and resilient nation, and we are ready to play our part.”
