Location: Oriam - Scotland's Sports Performance Centre, Edinburgh, EH14 4AS, and away fixture venues.

Salary: Competitive salary plus excellent employee benefits.

Hours: Full time, 37.5 hours per week to be worked flexibly to meet the needs of the women's first team training and fixture schedule, which will include evening and weekend work. Required to attend all women's first team fixtures (home and away).

Heart of Midlothian Football Club, a cornerstone of Scottish football since 1874, has an exciting opportunity for a Physiotherapist to work with our Women's First Team squad. Working within our ambitious and forward-thinking Performance Department, the Women's First Team Physiotherapist is primarily responsible for the diagnosis and acute/long-term care associated with players' musculoskeletal injuries.

If you have an undergraduate degree in Physiotherapy, experience of providing Physiotherapy support within a professional team environment and are passionate about working with and developing female athletes - we would love to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities:

  • · Provide Physiotherapy cover during all women's first team match days (home and away) including emergency on-pitch care/treatment when required.
  • · Physiotherapy cover of women's first team squad during training and clinics, including diagnosis, acute care/treatment and short to long-term rehabilitation from injury.
  • · Design and deliver pitch and gym-based exercise programmes.
  • · Liaise with members of the club's performance department and the women's first-team manager to assess players' health status and contribute to informed professional decision-making on players' fitness and readiness to train and play.
  • · Work collaboratively with other members of the performance department including doctors, sport scientists, and other specialists, as required.
  • · Support in conducting pre-signing player medical examinations.
  • · Maintain appropriate, current, legible, and accurate medical records on the club's Kitman system and ensure their confidential storage and GDPR compliance.
  • · Ensure the club has the appropriate range and quantity of Physiotherapy supplies available.
  • · Liaise with external stakeholders to facilitate medical procedures taking place outside of the club e.g., hospital-based operations, and consultations with specialist medical experts.
  • · Assist other performance staff with regular fitness testing of women's first team players throughout each season.
  • · Any other reasonable activities requested by the Head of Academy Performance.

Essential Experience, Qualifications & Requirements:

  • · Previous experience of providing Physiotherapy services within a full-time or part-time professional team sport environment, preferably football.
  • · Undergraduate degree in Physiotherapy or equivalent.
  • · HCPC registered Physiotherapist.
  • · Advanced pitch-side care qualification e.g., sport PROMOTE, SCRUMCAPS etc.
  • · Postgraduate qualification in Physiotherapy (Desirable).
  • · Able to evidence Legal Right to Work in the UK.
