Glasgow Life is looking for a Sport and Physical Activity Coaches (Disability Swim) to join us across a 2.5 hour, 9 hour or 2 x 15 hour part time, permanent contract. As a Sport and Physical Activity Coach you will be joining our in-demand Disability Learn to Swim programme (9 or 2.5 hours) or our schools swimming programme (15 hours). You will be part of a dedicated team which supports children and young people with a disability to be water confident and learn to swim safely.

As a Sport and Physical Activity Coach (Disability Swim), you’ll be joining our Glasgow Life Sport team, playing your part in encouraging people to live an active Glasgow life. The role

As a Sport and Physical Activity Coach (Disability Swim) you’ll be an integral part of the team by delivering and implementing a comprehensive learn to swim programme for people with a disability. Reporting to the Sport and Physical Activity Officer (Cohesion) and working alongside an established team of coaching staff.

If you’re interested in joining us as a Sport and Physical Activity Coach you’ll need:

  • Scottish Swimming Teaching Qualification (SSTQ) or equivalent 
  • Considerable experience of working with people with a disability
  • Able to easily engage, communicate with and motivate people with a disability
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Able to work effectively in a team

The Disability Learn to Swim programme role is working evening or weekends, for example Monday 3.45 - 6.15pm, Wednesday 3.45 - 7.15pm or Saturday 9.45am – 12.45pm

The Schools Swimming Programme role is working daytime, for example Tuesday to Thursday 9.45am - 2.45pm
