NextGen Academy Strength & Conditioning Coach: Hamilton Academical Women’s & Girls FC

Position: NextGen Academy Strength & Conditioning Coach
Commitment: Tuesday evenings 
Remuneration: Voluntary Position

Hamilton Academical Women’s & Girls FC are seeking a committed and enthusiastic Strength & Conditioning coach to support our NextGen Academy programme.

This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the physical development of young female athletes within a positive, supportive and structured football environment. .

The successful candidate will work alongside the NextGen coaching team to deliver age-appropriate strength and conditioning sessions, helping players develop their physical qualities, movement skills, strength, power, speed and resilience.

Main Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging, age-appropriate S&C sessions for Academy Players. 

  • Deliver one gym-based session per week per age group as part of the NextGen programme. 

  • Support the physical development of players in line with their individual needs and stage of development.

  • Develop players strength, power, speed, movement quality and physical literacy. 

  • Provide appropriate coaching, feedback and encouragement during sessions. 

  • Work closely with the football coaches to align physical development with the demands of the game. 

  • Monitor player progress and provide feedback where appropriate. 

  • Promote safe, effective and enjoyable training practises. 

  • Support the club's commitment to player welfare, development and long-term athletic development. 

About You

We are looking for a coach who:

  • Has a passion for developing young female athletes.

  • Enjoys working within girls’ football.

  • Is reliable, positive and committed.

  • Can build strong relationships with players, parents/carers and coaching staff.

  • Is keen to continue learning and developing within the S&C environment.

Qualifications & Experience

Essential:

  • Relevant Strength & Conditioning qualification, or currently working towards one. 

  • Experience delivering strength and conditioning or physical development sessions.

  • Understanding of safe and appropriate training practises for youth athletes. 

  • Commitment to safeguarding and player welfare. 

Desirable:

  • Experience working within girls’ football or an academy environment or youth sport environments. 

  • Relevant S&C, sports science, coaching or strength training qualifications.

  • Experience working alongside football coaches within a performance environment.
