scottishathletics is the national governing body for athletics in Scotland. Our vision is for everyone in Scotland to have the opportunity to participate in athletics and running and to achieve their personal ambitions.
Our mission is to deliver an integrated, inclusive and adaptable model of athletics and running provision that inspires everyone in Scotland to enjoy the sport and experience personal success. The member clubs play a crucial role in growing and developing the sport and, along with the volunteer workforce, they are integral to the sport’s future success.

About You
You are someone who has active involvement in a community sports club and understands their governance and ethos. You are someone who thrives in a dynamic environment, are well organised with administrative experience, including knowledge of MS Office 365. You can think creatively to overcome challenges and have a positive forward-looking outlook in regards to the overall development and promotion of the club. This role will involve outreach to communities underrepresented in athletics as well as supporting our current athletes, volunteers and coaches, so you are confident and a good communicator with a range of audiences. You are passionate about inclusivity and equality in sport.
About the Role
Musselburgh & District Athletic Club (MDAC) is a well-regarded club covering East Lothian and the east of Edinburgh, with clear objectives for future development. In 2026, the Club celebrates its seventieth year. MDAC has a strong core of athletes, recreational runners, coaches, jog leaders and volunteers. The Club wishes to build on these foundations and intends to grow and develop athletics in our local area, reaching out to underrepresented demographics and making us a Club that truly represents the whole community.
