Hillhead Jordanhill RFC: Head Coach

We are looking for an experienced coach who has enthusiasm, drive and commitment with the ability to motivate, challenge and develop the whole club, with a specific focus on our adult male players.

We are an ambitious club and are proud we continue to field two senior men’s teams, our 1stXV play in Arnold Clark National League Division 3 with our 2ndXV in Arnold Clark West Reserve League Division 1.

We also have a thriving youth section with over 60 minis, a girls youth section, our boys secondary schools age groups compete as Hills rugby in a joint venture with Jordanhill and other local secondary schools plus our women field two teams.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for leading the men’s coaching team, playing programme and development of both players and teams. Working closely with the Vice President Men’s Rugby and Club Committee to develop, support, communicate and deliver a thriving positive rugby environment.

Applicants should have

  • Qualifications: Advanced Coaching programme (UKCC Level 3) or equivalent, or working towards.

  • Experience as a club or school coach and previous involvement in the development of talented players.

  • Knowledge of team attacking and defensive strategies, skills and techniques relevant to players ability.

  • Demonstrate the ability to lead and motivate players.

  • Communicate effectively throughout the club.

  • To effectively and enthusiastically plan all training sessions and matches.

  • Agree achievable and realistic targets with players and committee.

  • Develop and strengthen pathways throughout the club from minis to 1stXV including links with Jordanhill other local schools.

  • Design and execute training which is effective and relevant to the player and entire playing squad development and goals.

  • To work with coaches, volunteers and club committee to achieve the best outcomes for the club.

  • Availability for all training and matches unless agreed with VP Rugby.

Remuneration package based on experience and qualifications.
