The University of Edinburgh is seeking a dynamic Head Coach – Women’s Rugby to lead our elite performance programme within the Edinburgh University Rugby Football Club (EURFC). This pivotal role involves developing and delivering a high-performance rugby programme, with primary responsibility for leading technical sessions, squad selection, and support services to ensure optimal performance.
The successful candidate will collaborate with head coaches, support staff, and key partners, including Edinburgh Rugby, to create a world-class training environment that fosters a culture of excellence and innovation. This is an exciting opportunity to shape the future of women’s rugby at one of the UK’s leading universities for performance sport.

Your skills and attributes for success:
- Educated to HND level or equivalent, with at least 2 years’ experience in sports development.
- UKCC Level 2 Coaching award (Rugby) or equivalent.
- Demonstrable experience in designing, implementing, and reviewing sport development plans.
- Strong communication skills (verbal and written), including the ability to write simple reports and deliver presentations effectively.
- Ability to work independently, respond proactively to unforeseen situations, and network effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
- In-depth understanding of the organisation and structure of British and Scottish Universities sport, particularly rugby.
- Empathy with students, ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, and proficiency in IT tools (Excel, Word, email, web-based software).
- Flexible, approachable, passionate about sport, and capable of independent and reasoned decision-making.
