The Pars Foundation wishes to recruit new Extra Time Playworkers on a self employed basis to support the delivery of our Extra Time Programme Pilot. This is a great opportunity for energetic, enthusiastic and committed people who have a passion for working with young people to come on board and make a real difference with the opportunity to be part of a progressive career pathway.
All successful candidates will support the delivery of our Extra Time Programme as well as be the face of our programme on a daily / weekly basis. Sessions will vary and your delivery will be working with people from of primary school age.

Contract: Part Time contract
Hours: 10hrs per week (delivery 3.00-6.00pm x3 days per week)
Salary: £13-£15per hour dependent on qualifications & experience
Job Purpose:
Our playworkers will creates safe, stimulating environments for children to play and develop, often in out-of-school or holiday setting. They facilitate activities, encourage self-expression, and ensure children's safety and well-being. Playworkers require strong communication, observation, and interpersonal skills, and may work in various settings like schools, adventure playgrounds, or holiday play schemes.

Role & Responsibilities
- Creating a safe and inclusive play environment: Our playworkers ensure the space is secure, welcoming, and encourages children of all backgrounds to participate.
- Facilitating play activities: Our playworkers will plan and organize activities that promote children's physical, social, and creative development through play in football and multi sport activities.
- Supervising children: Our playworkers monitor children's safety, manage behavior, and address any concerns or emergencies that arise.
- Building relationships: Our playworkers develop positive connections with children, parents, and other professionals to support children's needs.
- Encouraging self-expression: Our playworkers help children express their feelings and ideas, and support them in resolving conflicts.
- Adapting to different settings: Our playworkers work in various environments like schools, stadiums, sporting facilities and may take our participants on excursions to external sites.
Education & Qualifications (essential)
- A related qualification in playwork or sports coaching
- Current First Aid Certificate
- Current Safeguarding Certificate
Education & Qualifications (desirable)
- Mental Health First Aid Certificate
- Trauma Informed Training Certificate
Knowledge and Experience (essential)
- Experience working as part of a sports coaching / playwork programme.
- Experience providing excellent customer service.
- Knowledge of the positive impact sport can have on our community and individuals.
