About the Club

Stornoway Running and Athletics Club (SRAC) is a vibrant and inclusive community sports organisation based in Stornoway, dedicated to the promotion and development of running and athletics across all ages and abilities.

As a registered Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation (SCIO), the club operates with a strong commitment to community benefit, participation, and wellbeing.

The club provides structured training opportunities and support for both junior and senior athletes, creating a welcoming environment where individuals can develop their fitness, skills, and confidence. SRAC encourages participation at all levels—from beginners taking their first steps in running to experienced athletes competing in events locally and beyond.

SRAC plays an active role in the local sporting calendar, organising and supporting a range of events, including road races, track and field competitions, and community-focused activities. These events not only promote physical activity but also bring together runners, volunteers, and spectators, helping to strengthen community spirit across the Western Isles.

At its core, the club is driven by a passion for athletics and a commitment to fostering a positive, supportive, and inclusive environment. Through coaching, events, and community engagement, SRAC aims to inspire participation, improve health and wellbeing, and nurture a lifelong enjoyment of sport.

About You

You are an organised, self-motivated and personable individual with excellent communication and administrative skills.

You have experience working with volunteers, community organisations or sports clubs and understand the important role that volunteers play in delivering successful community sport. You are confident building positive relationships with a range of stakeholders and are able to manage multiple priorities while working independently.

You have strong digital skills, including experience using Microsoft Office applications and membership or customer relationship management systems, and you are comfortable maintaining accurate records and coordinating projects.

A knowledge of athletics or the wider sporting landscape would be advantageous, although we are equally interested in candidates who can demonstrate transferable skills, a commitment to learning and a genuine enthusiasm for supporting the development of people, clubs and communities.

Above all, you will be positive, reliable and collaborative, with a passion for helping Stornoway Running & Athletics Club continue to grow and thrive.

About the Role

Stornoway Running & Athletics Club is seeking an enthusiastic and proactive Club Together Officer to play a key role in the continued growth and development of our club and athletics across the Western Isles.

Working closely with the SRAC Board, Scottish Athletics and a range of local partners, you will help strengthen the club by supporting volunteer recruitment and development, coordinating club administration, assisting with funding applications and contributing to the planning and delivery of training, competitions and events.

This is a varied and rewarding role that will suit someone who enjoys building relationships, working with volunteers and making a positive impact within their local community. You will provide administrative and organisational support across both our junior and senior sections, helping to ensure the club continues to offer a welcoming, sustainable and high-quality experience for all members.

If you are passionate about community sport, enjoy working collaboratively and are motivated by helping others succeed, this is an excellent opportunity to make a lasting contribution to athletics in the Western Isles.
