(Self-Employed Contractor)
Working the equivalent of 7 hours per day, over 5 days, to achieve a 35-hour week. The day rate is £150 and hours to be billed monthly. This may include evenings or weekends on a self-employed basis. You will be responsible for your own tax, NI, holiday pay and other associated obligations. This role will run from agreed commencement date until end of March 2027.
Home based working with occasional attendance for ‘in person’ meetings may be required
Pickleball Scotland are looking for a Club Development and Participation Co-ordinator on a self-employed basis to co-ordinate the development of the club accreditation scheme, support sustainable club development and will be tasked with monitoring key participation metrics. The main objectives for the role are participation growth, inclusion and building and maintaining partnerships.
This person will be responsible to a nominated member of the Management Committee of Pickleball Scotland.
The main responsibilities for this role are:
Club Accreditation Scheme
In collaboration with other members of the management committee, formulate a new club accreditation process suitable for the development of Pickleball Scotland
Ensure alignment with relevant policies and the legal requirements for governing bodies
Support Club Development
Strengthen and grow the number of pickleball clubs in Scotland, particularly in underrepresented areas
Provideguidance and resources to existing clubs on best practice and good governance for existing clubs
Partnership Development
Build and maintain partnerships to expand participation opportunities
Work with key partners such as:
Local councils
Schools and universities
Community sports hubs
Health and wellbeing programs
National bodies likesportscotland
Support initiatives that help securefacilities, funding, and outreach opportunities
Data, Monitoring & Reporting
Track participation and programme success
Monitormembership growth and participation trends
Collect analyse data as appropriate from clubs and programmes
Produce and develop reports toPickleball Scotland leadership and funders
Skills and Experience
Essential:
Passion for pickleball and community engagement
Strong communicationand interpersonal skills
Goodknowledge of the current Pickleball landscape in Scotland
Experience of partnership working
Knowledge and experience of community sports development and/or participation programmes
Desirable:
Experience in sports development roles
Experience in volunteer management
Knowledge and experience of planning and delivering club accreditation schemes
Knowledge of club structures in other sports
