Appointment of up to four members to join sportscotland Board

The national agency for sport is looking for up to four people with a passion for sport, who see the value in creating a culture where sport is a way of life, and who believe in an active Scotland where everyone benefits from physical activity.

The benefits of sport are immense. It keeps people active, supports health and wellbeing, and helps develop knowledge and skills. It also helps strengthen our communities and contributes to Scotland’s economy.

As a member of the Board, you will be part of a system which makes the best use of all Scotland’s sports facilities as well as its great outdoors and helps people to take part at whatever level they choose.

sportscotland is the national agency for sport in Scotland. Our vision is an active Scotland where everyone benefits from sport. In an active Scotland we will all find ways to be physically active every day, such as taking an active approach to getting around, keeping moving at home and at work or choosing to be active in our leisure time.

More of us will take part in sport because we see it being relevant to our lives. We will be involved in ways that suit us, meeting fewer barriers and feeling more included. We will all experience more of the benefits of sport. For some of us, by taking part; for others, through our communities.

We are seeking to further broaden the diversity present on the Board. We would particularly welcome applications from women, disabled people, LGBT+ people, young people and people from minority ethnic communities.

Applicants will wish to be aware that we are operating a guaranteed interview scheme for applicants with disabilities. For further information, please see the applicant information pack.
