Swimming Top Up is a programme funded by the Scottish Government to support improved delivery of swimming lessons for primary school children across Scotland. The initial funding of £800,000 available from September 2010 to December 2011 was managed by sportscotland and supported by Scottish Swimming.
An independent evaluation was commissioned by sportscotland and the summary findings are given below. To complement the evaluation local authority case studies were collated in a case study pack by Scottish Swimming. These illustrate the variety of approaches adopted across local authorities and the difference the funding has made.
