Arbroath High School

Our 24-25 Young Ambassadors Team consists of 6 senior pupils: Niamh, Grace, Ava, Ellis, Lucy and Kayleigh.

Our Young Ambassadors are central to helping inspire and motivate others within the school. This year we were able to increase our numbers at our Active Girls' Day events from 30 to 100 girls with the help of the YAs.

The YAs went round the BGE classes and got pupils signed up to the different workshops. Some supported the pupils in the sessions (Talk from Celtic Player Amy Gallagher, Trampoline, Football, Dance and Fitness) and we had 2 of our S6 YAs progress to leading the football workshop this year after supporting the event last year.

To end the day, we celebrated with our Colour Run event which we would not have been able to do with the support of our YAs. The best piece of feedback from the pupils was ‘I really enjoyed it and it boosted my confidence a lot, everything was extremely fun, especially the colour run, I will definitely be participating next year.’

Our Young Ambassadors go above and beyond to support the young people at Arbroath High School and our local primary schools. The Active Girls Day events allowed pupils to get to know the school community better and encouraged some of the girls to come along to extracurricular clubs or feel more confident taking part in PE. Our YAs help support our schools' clubs and our local primary schools helping to build a positive and welcoming environment for all.
