The Young Ambassador team has truly gone above and beyond this year, showing exceptional dedication to bringing the school’s action plan for the School Sport Award to life. They’ve just hosted the inaugural AHS Sports Awards Evening, and it was an event to remember!
Niamh, Ellis, Kayleigh, Ava, Grace, and Lucy identified an area where we could really shine as a school: recognising and celebrating achievement. They stepped out of their comfort zones and took it upon themselves to make a real difference. From reaching out to local companies and inviting a guest speaker, to designing certificates and thank-you cards for our sports club attendees and volunteers, they handled it all. They even hosted the entire event with grace and professionalism.
And the result? A resounding success. Nearly 90 pupils gathered to celebrate the outstanding young people who dedicate their time to our clubs, who proudly represent our school in competitions, and who inspire us all with their commitment. The evening was more than just an awards ceremony – it was a chance to highlight the transformative power of sport. Through sports, we learn invaluable lessons: hard work, teamwork, resilience, and leadership. It builds our confidence, strengthens our community, and most importantly, gives us all a place to belong.
The Young Ambassador team truly set an example that night. They were not only the driving force behind the event, but they also acted as incredible role models for the entire school. By hosting a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere, they made sure that every pupil could feel celebrated for their achievements. This event was a shining example of what it means to be a leader, and the team demonstrated that great leadership starts with a passion to serve others. We’re lucky to have such inspiring students showing us all what it means to lead by example.
