Regional Development Managers: Scottish Golf

An exciting opportunity has arisen within Scottish Golf for two Regional Development Managers to join us in our mission to make golf Scotland’s game for everyone. With proven experience of working with clubs, and with support from Scottish Golf’s key teams, Regional Development Managers will lead club support and programme delivery within geographical regions, ultimately supporting culture change within the game and increasing our engagement with members and stakeholders.

Scottish Golf is the internationally recognised governing body for amateur golf in Scotland. With more than 220,000 active golf club members and over 575 golf courses across Scotland, the organisation works across many areas of golf. Role Overview:

Scottish Golf’s Regional Development Managers will be responsible for embedding governing body support within the fabric of the game, helping build sustainable clubs and growing the reach of golf. They will be passionate about the game and have a strong understanding of golf in Scotland.

With one role based in the South-West region, and the other in the North, Regional Development Managers will drive increased support, through targetted engagement, across our membership, delivering Scottish Golf’s organisational strategy at a regional level – ultimately, helping to modernise the game and develop sustainable golf club management practices.

What we’re looking for:

  • The ability to adapt, relate to and influence people at different levels and ages, thereby acting as a force for development of Golf in Scotland.
  • Demonstrable problem solving and decision-making skills with the ability to organise and deliver support to member clubs.
  • Outstanding communication and presentation skills to effectively engage with a broad workforce and membership community.
  • A knowledge of Scottish Golf structures, either through work in a club role or wider golf sector experience.
  • Passion for the sport
  • Strong understanding of golf club business and development needs.
  • Experience of facilitating and leading strategic planning discussions.

Location:

Roles will be in specific regions, with the opportunity to work from home and the expectation of working from Scottish Golf Headquarters in Rosyth when required.

  • South-West region: capturing clubs across North, East and South Ayrshire, and Dumfries & Galloway.
  • North region: capturing clubs across Moray, Highlands and Western Isles.
