Tier 2/3 (Volunteer)
EUWAFC are seeking a volunteer Head Coach for our 3rd, 4th, and 5th teams, someone who is driven to add to the teams’ achievements in the Scottish 2A, 3A, and 3B leagues and further EUWAFC’s growth and development. We are looking for an enthusiastic, approachable, and committed coach to organise and lead the delivery of sessions for a dedicated group of players, as the team pursues success in league and cup competitions.
Edinburgh University Women’s Association Football Club (EUWAFC) truly prides itself on being one of the best university women’s football clubs in Scotland. We have five football teams competing within the British Universities and Colleges Sport (BUCS) leagues and Scottish Student Sport cups. Our first and second teams play in the topflight of Scottish football, our third team in the second tier, and our fourth and fifth teams in the third tier. Seeking to provide football development opportunities for all levels, EUWAFC also offers club football pathways through our SWPL 2 partner Boroughmuir Thistle – Scotland’s largest female football club – and a weekend recreational programme. EUWAFC has access to world-class training and playing facilities with multiple 3G, grass and 5-aside pitches at Peffermill Playing Fields.

Requirements for role:
Essential:
- Previous experience of planning and delivering a coaching plan.
- Scottish FA Level 1.3.
- Ability to attend evening training sessions on Tuesdays and Thursdays, matches on Wednesday afternoons, and monthly coaching team meetings (online or in person).
- Support the student-led Executive Committee in creating an inclusive environment.
- Approachable with effective communication skills and a positive attitude that will extend to the rest of the team and fellow EUWAFC coaches.
- Be inclusive and support our ethos and commitment to football being for all.
Desirable:
- UEFA C License.
- Experience of coaching women’s football.
Key responsibilities:
- Prepare for and lead training sessions and match preparation (flexible if needed).
- Manage their team during league and cup matches.
- Evaluation of individual’s / group performance, and identification of key development areas.
- Ability to adjust coaching techniques based on the strengths and weaknesses of both players and opponents.
