Fitness Coach: Uddingston Hockey Club

Uddingston Hockey Club are looking for a Fitness Coach for the upcoming 2024/25 season to work across the club. This is a paid role based on the experience of the candidate.

Both ladies and gents' teams are coming off the back of their most successful seasons in the Scottish Premiership, as well as both achieving promotion into the Premier Indoor Division, and are seeking the experience and expertise of a fitness coach to take the physical preparation of both programmes to the next level, as we take the next steps in our performance plan.

Role description

  • Fitness Testing for the performance and social programmes at the start of the programme, and at regular intervals during the season
  • 2 nights a week for pre-season fitness from start of July until Mid-Aug (Monday and Wednesday)
  • 1 night a week during the season (August to April) to run a performance strength & conditioning session
  • Writing of a fitness programme for athletes to follow away from their regular pitch sessions
  • Work with our performance youth programmes as and when required
  • Regular feedback into performance head coaches and Director of Hockey about the progress of athletes

Requirements

  • Post-Graduate qualification in Strength & Conditioning or Sports Science
  • Experience of working within a team sport environment, working with a hockey team advantageous
  • Appropriate accreditations (eg UKSCA, BASES etc) or working towards them
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral and be confident communicating and building rapport with players and staff
