St Leonards School is seeking proactive, enthusiastic and dedicated Residential Sports Graduates to join our boarding and sports community.
This is an exciting opportunity for graduates with a passion for sport, pastoral care and working with young people within a leading independent boarding and day school environment in St Andrews, Scotland.
Sport plays a central role within the life of St Leonards School and we are committed to providing pupils with a broad range of sporting and recreational opportunities to support wellbeing, participation and performance. We welcome applicants with experience in areas such as swimming, golf, tennis, football, strength and conditioning, athletics or wider sporting activities.
Alongside contributing to the sports programme, Residential Sports Graduates will become key members of the boarding team, supporting the day to day pastoral care, wellbeing and development of boarding pupils within a close and supportive residential environment.
Key responsibilities include:
Supporting the delivery of PE, Games and co curricular sport across the School
Assisting with coaching, fixtures, training sessions and sporting events
Supporting evening and weekend sports provision and activities
Contributing to the promotion of sport as a positive and healthy lifestyle choice
Supervising and supporting boarding pupils throughout the school day and boarding routines
Assisting Housemasters and Housemistresses with the pastoral care and welfare of pupils
Supporting student trips, airport transfers, weekend activities and school events
Helping maintain a safe, positive and supportive boarding environment
Working collaboratively with colleagues across sport, boarding and academic departments
Applicants should demonstrate:
Experience in sports coaching at school or club level
A genuine enthusiasm for working with young people
Strong communication, organisational and interpersonal skills
The ability to contribute positively within a team environment
Flexibility, resilience and a proactive approach to school life
A caring and professional attitude towards pupil wellbeing and development
A sports coaching qualification is essential. Experience within schools, boarding or youth environments would be advantageous.
Accommodation within the boarding house is provided as part of the role, alongside meals during term time and access to excellent sporting and professional development opportunities.
