This investment will support our intention of strong, safe, sustainable and inclusive club and community organisations that understand the needs of their communities.
From 1 April 2026, local authorities will receive investment for Club Development Officer posts, with the intention that these posts become part of core investment (although not confirmed) in future partnership agreements.
This is in addition to existing Community Sport Hubs (CSH) investment to ensure that local authorities can support local club development as well as develop CSHs that help clubs meet community needs.
By providing more support to local clubs we expect clubs to engage more participants, including more people from more diverse communities. We will monitor participation and deliverer data in club and community organisations and capture sharing and learning from the invested posts.
