Q&A with Poppy

What has been your highlight during your time as a YA?

My highlight has been being able to empower young people in my school community to get involved in sport and see their confidence grow.

Why did you apply to be part of the YA Delivery Team?

To support in the delivery of the conferences, through collaborating with other young people from across Scotland. In order to inspire and build the skills of other Young Ambassadors from across Scotland.

What advice would you give to a young person considering Young Ambassadors?

My advice would be the more you put in to the opportunity, the more you will get out of it and to also put your own wellbeing first in order to help others wellbeing.

What is your favourite sport?

I love a variety of sports, but if I was to just pick one it would be triathlon.

What is your proudest achievement (outside of Young Ambassadors)?

It would have to be being apart of the UNICEF UK youth advisory board (21-23) where I pushed myself out of my comfort zone to interview players at Soccer Aid for UNICEF.

What are your future aspirations?

My aspirations are always changing however I definitely know I want to go into a healthcare profession whether it be physio, sport science or medicine. In the near future I hope to be a swim teacher while being a student.
