Q&A with Hannah

Why did you apply to be part of the YA Delivery Team?

I applied to be part of the Young Ambassador Delivery Team as I felt it was my next step as an Ambassador, in S2 and S3 I was a Young leader, in S4 I became a Young Ambassador and last year was selected as one of two Platinum Ambassadors for my school. I also attended the sportscotland Young Ambassador conference when in S4 and thoroughly enjoyed it and learned a great amount from it so when the opportunity came I knew it was something I wanted to do.

What advice would you give to a young person considering Young Ambassadors?

You don’t have to play sports to be a Young Ambassador, anyone can be. You just have to want to do it to inspire young people and make a positive difference in your community and school.

What is your favourite sport?

Swimming

What is your proudest achievement (outside of Young Ambassadors)?

My proudest achievement outside of being a Young Ambassador is attending the Scottish National Age Group Championship for swimming 2 years in a row, as well as being invited to the Scottish National Summer meet, where you must place top 24 in Scotland to swim both years.

What are your future aspirations?

My future aspirations are to continue to inspire young people in any area I am a part of, whether that be work, sports or other fields. I would also like to continue to swim throughout my whole life.
