Q&A with Eva

What has been your highlight during your time as a YA?

My highlight of being a YA was developing new friendships and connections by working alongside my YA partner and other people within my school who have a passion for sport. Another highlight of YA is when I finally finished the presentation for the Golds Sports Award as it was so motivating to see all the work and time I spent on it to pay off.

Why did you apply to be part of the YA Delivery Team?

I really enjoyed my time as YA and really was inspired by the people who took my conference. I want to help out the future YA’s the way the delivery team helped me last year. They gave me so many wonderful ideas which gave me a really good starting point. I also want to help continue boosting my own confidence.

What advice would you give to a young person considering Young Ambassadors?

Just go for it! Challenge yourself! I know that for me I was very scared when I first applied but it was the best thing I could have done. It will help you develop your confidence and who you are as a person along with many important life skills. It’s perfectly okay if you don’t know what you are meant to do yet, you will learn quickly and the Delivery Team at your conference will do their best to give you as many ideas as possible.

What is your favourite sport?

My favourite sport is dance. I started dancing when I was 4, and just recently got back into it when I came into secondary school as a way to express myself.

What is your proudest achievement (outside of Young Ambassadors)?

Achieving the gold High Life Highland award - which is equivalent to over 500 hours of volunteering.

What are your future aspirations?

My short term dream is to continue growing dance within my school as I want to provide the escape that dance has offered to me to everyone else. Past school I would love to get into a Musical Theatre school such as RCS or MGA and train to be on the West End Stage as being a MT performer would be my dream.
