Q&A with Emma

What has been your highlight during your time as a YA?

Having the opportunity to help young people develop skills within sports aswell as their social communication and confidence. Giving people a voice through sport. I also enjoy helping new YAs to develop the skills they need to share their genuine passion for sport and help create positive change.

Why did you apply to be part of the YA Delivery Team?

I've learnt so much in the past few years developing myself as I work with the young people to grow their skills. I want to show up and coming YAs how they can help others within their communities, spreading sport's opportunities nationwide so everybody can have a positive sporting experience.

What advice would you give to a young person considering Young Ambassadors?

Go into every session ready to have fun, no matter your mood every opportunity you get will give you something back if you go in enthusiastic and ready to deliver a positive session.

What is your favourite sport?

Karate

What is your proudest achievement (outside of Young Ambassadors)?

Representing the Scotland National Karate Team at the Commonwealth and European Championships and getting selected for the World Championships team later this year.

What are your future aspirations?

I've recently been thinking about studying sports psychology at university, helping others to manage their mind and body emotions and creating positive change.
