Q&A with Chris
What has been your highlight during your time as a YA?
Working with other Young Ambassadors and being given the opportunity to be part of the Young Ambassador Delivery Team
Why did you apply to be part of the YA Delivery Team?
My journey as a YA has been difficult. We really struggled to make change in our school and failed at organising events because when we had just started we had a lack of guidance and little help. This is something that was changed when we went to our conference and this is what I want to continue.
What advice would you give to a young person considering Young Ambassadors?
Make plans and go through with them. There is nothing worse than telling people about what you are hoping to achieve and then never delivering. Make a plan and check it with as many people as possible before asking for permission to run the event, club etc. If something won't work, don't give up, just make adjustments to your plan and try again
What is your favourite sport?
Taekwondo and Golf
What is your proudest achievement (outside of Young Ambassadors)?
Competing with the Scotland National Taekwondo Squad and winning the 2023 World Championships as part of a team.
What are your future aspirations?
To continue competing internationally in taekwondo and work towards getting more hours for my saltire awards
