YAs Cameron and Josie identified a need to better highlight the sporting achievements of pupils at Mackie Academy. To do this they have created a sports achievements MS form which pupils can access by scanning a QR code on the school noticeboards. This form allows pupils to provide details of their recent achievements in sport, this could be winning a competition, making a new squad or even learning a new skill.
This information is then received by the Principal Teacher for Wider Achievement who highlights this information around the school to celebrate success and hopefully inspire other pupils to participate in sport. The pupils competing at a national and international level are also then signposted to Live Life Aberdeenshires Talented Athlete Pass where they may be able to access discounted or free access to local sports facilities to support their training.
The next step for Cameron and Josie is to promote the programme throughout the school to encourage pupils to use it regularly and celebrate their successes.
