School Sport Award

We will not open the School Sport Award for academic year 21/22, as we have made the careful decision to keep the award closed this year. With so many of us adapting to the varying restrictions and limitations that Covid-19 is bringing, it would be challenging for any school to complete the assessment based on their current position.

Instead we are going to turn this year into a positive and look at ways to improve the School Sport Award for everyone!

With over 1500 schools across the whole of Scotland engaged with the School Sport Award, we want to look at ways of improving and tweaking the award and making it the best it can be. You can help! We would be interested to get any feedback from your experience of using the School Sport Award and any suggestions you have towards making it better and helping other schools become aware of the positive impact using the School Sport Award assessment tool can have. You can email with your comments, we would be delighted to hear from you.

Over the course of this academic year, we will be refreshing the sections in the assessment tool with the aim of relaunching the School Sport Award in 2022.

Schools with a Gold School Sport Award

If you are one of the 399 schools that currently have a Gold School Sport Award, you will continue to be recognised as a Gold school until the end of academic year 21/22.

In the meantime, we will continue to keep promoting the School Sport Award and share stories of the positive impact it can have across your whole school. If you want to share anything across social media please use #schoolsportaward.
