Q&A with Kate

What has been your highlight during your time as a YA?

Helping my school get the sportscotland gold School Sport Award award. I also organised a girls sports day which was super successful and it was amazing to see so many girls participating in sport.

Why did you apply to be part of the YA Delivery Team?

I love encouraging people to try new sports and I think that the YA program is a great way to do this. I really wanted to support and mentor next years YAs!

What advice would you give to a young person considering Young Ambassadors?

Go for it! It’s a great opportunity to meet new people, gain lots of new skills and encourage people to try new sports.

What is your favourite sport?

Orienteering

What is your proudest achievement (outside of Young Ambassadors)?

Getting selected as reserve for the British Squad for the European Youth Orienteering Championships

What are your future aspirations?

I would like to continue my journey in orienteering and keep improving my results. As well as continuing to be involved in leadership roles in sport.
