Q&A with Daisy

What has been your highlight during your time as a YA?

My highlight was when I went to the Ratho Adventure Day with the other Young Ambassadors in my area. We did lots of different team-building games outside which we had to rely on each other to complete fully. These activities were out of my comfort zone, challenged my communication skills and developed my friendships with my fellow ambassadors.

Why did you apply to be part of the YA Delivery Team?

I applied to be a part of the YA Delivery Team as I enjoyed my time as a YA and I want other young people in Scotland to experience the fun that comes with being a YA. I also want to improve on my communication and delivery skills in front of people.

What advice would you give to a young person considering Young Ambassadors?

The advice I would give to a young person considering Young Ambassadors is to just go for it and to take every opportunity in which the YA programme gives you.

What is your favourite sport?

Gaelic Football

What is your proudest achievement (outside of Young Ambassadors)?

My proudest achievement outside of Young Ambassadors would be my short documentary video that was shown in the Scottish Parliament for a discussion about girls' participation in sports. My video was shown in schools during assemblies and though school bulletins.

What are your future aspirations?

My future aspirations are to inspire many people to get involved in sports though the use of media e.g. being a director or going into sports media.
