Q&A with Ahrra

What has been your highlight during your time as a YA?

My highlight of Young Ambassadors so far is being a role model and helping develop younger pupils. Helping out at many city-wide events and seeing all the happy faces on all that I have helped is one of the best things ever! I enjoy watching the development of the young pupils in sports such as netball and football, and seeing the pupil's abilities improve followed by their sheer delight is like a reward of my own.

Why did you apply to be part of the YA Delivery Team?

I am most looking forward to meeting new Young Ambassadors and learning from them as we will all be able to share ideas with each other that I will be able to take back to my school for further development of our pupils.

What advice would you give to a young person considering Young Ambassadors?

Give it a go, it's worth it. It may be scary and it may be out of your comfort zone but it's always worth a try. I was scared to start with and it's normal but it has been one of the best decisions I've ever made!

What is your favourite sport?

Netball

What is your proudest achievement (outside of Young Ambassadors)?

My proudest achievement is qualifying and attending a large athletics UK final in Manchester at the Man City training ground, where I represented Scotland with my athletics team.

What are your future aspirations?

My future aspirations are to get all my needed qualifications to go to university to become a Sports Psychologist. I also aspire to play netball for Scotland and/or the Strathclyde Sirens.
