Q&A with Chinenye
What has been your highlight during your time as a YA?
Getting more people involved in sports. Working with my fellow YA to organise a sport-a-thon where we had fun participating in various sports but also raised money for charities.
What are you most looking forward to as part of the YA Delivery Team?
I hope to inspire the new Young Ambassadors on how to make the most of their positions as role models for sports within their schools. I am also looking forward to meeting other members of the YA delivery team.
What skills would you like to learn or develop during your time as a YA Delivery Team member?
I would like to improve my confidence, leadership and public speaking skills.
What advice would you give to a young person considering Young Ambassadors?
I would say do not be scared to go for it. It is a great experience and being a YA gives you so many opportunities to make a difference and improve sports at your school and you also get to meet so many amazing people.
What is your proudest achievement (outside of Young Ambassadors)?
Getting a Saltire Award for volunteering.
What are your future aspirations?
Go on to university and becoming more involved in sports.
