Q&A with Anna

What has been your highlight during your time as a YA?

During my time as a YA I have really enjoyed having the responsibility of encouraging more young people to get into sport and getting them active, and the reward when the hard work pays off.

What are you most looking forward to as part of the YA Delivery Team?

As part of the YA delivery team I’m most looking forward to delivering the conferences as it is an exciting prospect and something I never thought I would do or have the opportunity to do.

What skills would you like to learn or develop during your time as a YA Delivery Team member?

During my time as part of the YACDT I would like to develop my confidence further as well as my public speaking and learn how to make the most out of my role.

What advice would you give to a young person considering Young Ambassadors?

Some advice I’d give to a young person considering Young Ambassadors would be to just go for it, it opens up some amazing opportunities and avenues which you have the ability to lead your school down into becoming more active in sport. It’s a really fun experience and you get to meet new people and even gain some skills from them as well as through the conferences and building on them through the work you undertake. It develops confidence and team work and everyone is amazing so why not give it a go.

What is your proudest achievement (outside of Young Ambassadors)?

My proudest achievement would be captaining Queen of the South to win the league and the league cup in the same year at U16 level. Another of my proudest achievements would be winning the Dux award at my school.

What are your future aspirations?

My future aspirations would be to study sport in future years as well as continue my participation in football and badminton, and potentially even go on to coach sports across the world.
