Bio

Currently a senior performance physiologist at the sportscotland institute of sport, I completed an MSc by research with Celtic FC after spending a year's placement at James Cook University, Australia. I was head of sports science at St Mirren FC for three seasons and during this period the club were runners-up in the League Cup and successfully maintained Premier League status.

I have also worked on the preparation of Olympic, Paralympic and Commonwealth Games athletes across a number of sports since the Beijing 2008 cycle in my roles at both the English Institute of Sport and sportscotland institute of sport. In the past seven years I have led the physiology support to Scottish athletes in six Olympic and Commonwealth Games sports, most recently leading on judo and swimming programmes. I was performance scientist for Team Scotland at the 2018 Commonwealth Games in Gold Coast, working primarily with swimming coaches and athletes.
