Strathendrick Rugby Club is a progressive community sports organisation serving West Stirlingshire, based at Fintry Sports and Recreation Club. Strathendrick has a thriving membership with 2 senior teams, Mini teams at each age group P1 – P7 and Midis at each age group S1 – U18, run in close collaboration with Balfron High School. The Club has ambitions to start a Women’s team and will be a Scottish Rugby Tartan Touch Hub this summer.
To help it become more sustainable, grow its activities and further develop its facilities the Club has an exciting new opportunity to engage a Business Development Manager to increase fundraising and build its earned income.
Working with the Club’s stakeholders the successful candidate will agree, initiate and implement an enterprising programme of grant applications, commercial sponsorships, fundraising events and schemes to achieve ambitious but realistic targets.
The fee for the initial one-year, fixed-term contract, will be £12,000 pa - which is part funded by Scottish Rugby - for an average 16 hours per week; with a view to developing the role further in future years.
The ideal candidate will have demonstrable experience of fundraising in the voluntary sector and /or a successful track record in business development; strong communication and presentational skills; expertise in the use of social media; the ability to work with a wide range of interests; and an appreciation and understanding of the role and potential of community sport. He/she will be self-motivated, energetic and enthusiastic.
