Sessional Development Officer- Beith Astro

Purpose of Job

The post holder will drive forward the development of the activities in and around Beith Astro, a community managed grassroots facility. Duties: will design development and delivery of events, workshops, festivals, youth work and activity which will increase the  usage of the facility and raise its profile as a community hub for sport, physical activity, learning and personal development.

Context and Scope

The post holder will be working closely with the Senior Officer, Community Development Manager, staff and volunteers of the Beith Trust. Beith Astro is a community managed facility which provides products to the footballing communities of the West Coast. You will work closely with the coaches, parents and young people involved with Beith Juniors Community Football Club, encouraging the uptake of learning and personal development opportunities through Sports Leader Awards and qualifications, training courses and Volunteering.

Major Tasks and Job Activities

  • To drive forward, develop and deliver events, festivals, sports day, football camps, play schemes etc. that will increase footfall and usage of the Beith Astro.
  • To increase the uptake of Sports Leader Awards and qualifications in local sports groups and clubs
  • To increase participation in Beith Juniors Community FC
  • To produce content/share/contribute to an online Community
  • To support Volunteer(s)-ing in and around Beith Astro
  • To promote the Organisations activities, events and Projects
  • Be proactive in your contribution and organisation of a wide range of activities, sessions and events particularly at the Beith Astro.
  • Be confident in monitoring, evaluating and reporting of all engagement, activities and event information.
  • Must be flexible and prepared to work the hours as driven by the role which can and will include evenings and weekends.
  • Clean driven licence and business insurance essential as own car required.
