Scottish Wrestling Association: Sponsorship Manager / Fund Raiser


Scottish Wrestling Association (SWA) is the National Governing Body for Olympic styles of wrestling in Scotland. Following a successful Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, we are looking to ensure wrestling’s sustainable development and growth in Scotland, through expansion of our voluntary Board.


An exciting new position has arisen at Scottish Wrestling Association (SWA) reflecting its ambition to grow the sport at all levels over the next few years. As Sponsorship & Commercial Sales Manager at the national sports governing body, you will work with a team dedicated to developing the sport of wrestling from grassroots, schools and clubs to representative age-group, women’s and men’s teams.

The Sponsorship & Commercial Sales Manager will be tasked with developing and driving forward all aspects of the organisation`s commercial activity in line with the SWA sponsorship policy.

The successful candidate will manage and be accountable for generating all sponsorship, engaging with corporate Scotland, managing commercial partnerships and business development activities and will have overall responsibility for increasing revenues across all aspects of the operation.

The ideal candidate will

  • Be commercially astute,
  • Be well organised and well networked,
  • Have the ability to present effectively to a variety of audiences
  • Possess excellent negotiating and influencing skills and the ability to engage with the market place at Board level;
  • Ideally you will currently be in a commercial position with a record of success gained through building effective relationships at all levels.

A knowledge of the sport of wrestling is not necessary but an appreciation and understanding of the sports industry would be advantageous.
