Lasswade GC has an excellent reputation for precision coaching and the development of gymnasts at all levels.  Our status as a Limited Company with Charitable Status, strong financial position and our excellent competition results provides us the perfect platform to develop our club for the future.

We seek highly motivated L2 or above Women’s Artistic Coach(es) to enable the expansion of our Women’s Artistic Programme.

The role offers Up to 26 Hours per Week (plus additional hours for performance sessions and competition attendance).  This comprises of upto 24.5 hours direct coaching time and 1.5 hours per week session planning.  There is a degree of flexibility in the hours available within our programme which runs on a Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday Evening, Friday afternoon to evening and Sunday all day.  For an individual who has a desire to make coaching a full time career we have very close links with Midlothian Council and can assist individuals to secure additional coaching in local classes and our schools programme, which operate during the day.  We will also consider coaches wishing to do a smaller volume of hours.

This is an ideal opportunity for a suitably qualified and enthusiastic person to join our coaching team and enable the development of gymnasts in both our competitive and recreational programmes.

Main Responsibilities:

  • To plan and prepare and deliver engaging and progressive coaching sessions for competitive gymnasts, appropriate to your coaching level and the level of the gymnasts.
  • To attend competitions and events as required.
  • To assist the Head of Discipline to develop the WA programme

Person Specification:

  • Minimum Level 2 MA Coaching Qualification
  • High Coaching standard and Technical appreciation within the WA Discipline
  • Able to communicate effectively with gymnasts and parents
  • Able to motivate and assist gymnastics to develop new skills
  • An understanding of the WA pathways
  • Understand individual learning processes and able to adapt training principals
  • Ability to work well as part of a team and individually
  • Excellent work ethic and a Personal commitment to continuous professional development
  • Current Safeguarding and Protecting Children Certificate and PVG
  • A judging qualification would also be a valuable addition
