Forfarshire Cricket Club: Director of Cricket

Forfarshire CC is an ambitious amateur cricket club who are recruiting an experienced and passionate Director of Cricket to lead the development of our cricket program.

Location - Broughty Ferry, Dundee (and surrounding area)

Hours - The position is for a minimum of 20 hours per week over the cricket season (April through to the start of September) and for 10 hours per week over the winter months.

Renumeration - dependent on qualifications and experience

Key Activities

  • Build on and enhance the current Junior Pathways and Development program
  • Enhance adult team performance by providing development feedback to individual players and provide leadership and guidance to team captains and coaches on match days.
  • Coach Recruitment, development and mentoring.
  • Club Management and Strategy in conjunction with the cricket Management Committee
  • Foster a positive cricket culture within the Forthill Community Sports HUB and the local community.
  • Run Cricket Coaching in our local catchment schools.
  • Holiday Camps

Key Skills

  • Leadership: Proven ability to lead, motivate, and inspire players, coaches, and volunteers.
  • Coaching Expertise: Strong background in cricket coaching, ideally with ECB Level 3(or working towards) or equivalent coaching certification.
  • Player Development: Deep understanding of junior development pathways, with a track record of fostering young talent and progressing players to higher levels.
  • Tactical and Strategic Acumen: Strong knowledge of the game’s technical and tactical aspects, with the ability to enhance team performance and strategy.
  • Strong Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with players, parents, coaches, and the wider community.
  • Organizational Skills: Ability to manage multiple programs and teams simultaneously, with strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Budgeting and Resource Allocation: Experience managing cricket operations within a set budget
  • UK right to work and disclosure checked.
  • Availability to oversee training sessions (weekdays/evenings) and attend matches (weekends).
  • Willingness to be involved in the day-to-day running of the cricket operations at the club and represent the club at external meetings and events.
