Community Sports Hub Officer: Aberdeenshire Council

36.25 hrs per week - £29,261 - £31,039

Aberdeenshire Council is looking to recruit a Sports Officer to create sporting and physical activity opportunities within the Aberdeenshire community.

To develop Community Sports Hubs programme to ensure it meets the needs of our communities across Aberdeenshire.  Support people to deliver healthier lifestyles and promoting community wellbeing

You will be required to meet the following essential criteria:

  • Degree qualified
  • Significant experience in a sports development or similar role
  • Proven ability to develop voluntary sector sporting organisations
  • Knowledge of appropriate quality assurance schemes and an advocate of best practice
  • Ability to develop data capture systems which contribute towards performance management
  • Confident IT skills in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint Marketing and promotion

It is a material condition of employment for this post that the employee holds a current full driving licence and has a car available, whenever required, in order to undertake the full range of duties of the post. 

This post is regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check.  Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out with the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. You will be required to provide this check. A confirmed offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to the outcome of both these pre-employment checks being deemed satisfactory.
