Communications Manager (Media and Public Affairs)

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a highly experienced media and PR practitioner within the sportscotland marketing and communications team. The national agency for sport in Scotland works with a range of organisations to build a world-class sporting system for everyone in Scotland.

This is a key role in the organisation and requires a motivated, experienced and dedicated media and public affairs specialist with excellent networking and influencing skills.

You will excel in providing counsel and advice at senior level, running a busy press office, leading on proactive communications and have a proven track record in handling reactive and crisis management.

We are looking for someone with an established background of successfully developing and implementing media strategy, social and digital media plans, who has existing excellent contacts and relationships with the media and in public affairs. Knowledge of the sporting environment would be beneficial.

You should have an excellent skill set across all aspects of communications, project management and stakeholder relationships.

In addition, you will be able to demonstrate an excellent eye for detail, strong copy and editing skills across online and offline platforms and most importantly, you will have a pro-active, can-do attitude.

You will be working in a media landscape which operates on a 24/7 basis and will therefore be required to be flexible in your working hours to meet the needs of this role.
