Would you like to work with one of the most progressive rugby clubs in the West of Scotland?
Could you play a vital role its journey of growth and achievement? Can you bring talent and commitment to this ambitious club, building its partnership with Balfron High School and backed by Scottish Rugby?
Strathendrick Rugby Club is looking to recruit a Coach to train, develop and lead the senior teams of this outstanding community club.
After successive promotions, the 1st XV team has enjoyed its first season in Tennent’s West Regional Division 1 competing well and finishing mid-table. The 2nd XV plays in Tennent’s West Reserve League Division 2 and is a classic mix of “old heads” and young bucks who will step up to the 1st XV in due course. This role presents a great opportunity for either a young coach looking to build their experience and career or an established leader prepared to share their skills and expertise. We are ideally looking for someone with a Level 3 coaching qualification or prepared to work towards it – but anyone with suitable enthusiasm and experience is welcome to apply.
Please note: this is not a paid position but we are happy to invest in coach development and cover reasonable expenses. SRFC membership, branded clothing (training tops, shirt and tie) will be provided.
Strathendrick has an outstanding junior section starting with Micros at P1 – P3; Mini teams at every age group from P3-P7; a strong primary schools’ programme; and a close relationship with Balfron High School that runs 5 midi teams in the Schools’ Barbarian Conference. The Club is hosting Tartan Touch this summer, for the second year, and a key objective is to build Girls / Women’s rugby.
Serving the villages of West Stirlingshire but within easy reach of Glasgow, Strathendrick is based at Fintry Sports Club and has great training, playing and leisure facilities. Training takes place on Tuesday and Thursday evenings. Training can also be arranged at Balfron High School on their 4G surface if conditions at Fintry are unsuitable.
The Club Coach will be expected to

- Lead team selection and contribute to the management of team affairs on match-days
- Liaise with Club Captain and relevant committee members to ensure both the smooth day-to-day running and longer-term development of rugby affairs
