Requirements

Fife Council in partnership with sportscotland, wish to appoint a Development Officer (Community Sport Hubs) to enhance its sports development team. This is a key appointment in relation to the development of sportscotland’s national programme of Community Sport Hubs within Fife.

You will be based in Rothesay House, Glenrothes but will be expected to travel across Fife. There may be evening and weekend work.

You will be able to show good organisation, interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work both individually and part of the wider team.

Experience of project management within communities, physical activity and sport is desirable demonstrating the ability to lead and develop programmes from ideas to implementation.

You will be expected to work with volunteers and coaches supporting them in delivery of programmes.

Before confirming appointment, you will be required to obtain Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme membership through Disclosure Scotland and become a member of the relevant PVG scheme.

The Individual

An effective team worker, you will have knowledge of national sport and health strategies with experience of working with children, young adults, associations, clubs, schools, voluntary groups, national governing bodies and sportscotland.

You will also have experience of creating, developing and evaluating plans, developing coach and volunteer pathways in sport and introducing, promoting and developing programmes.

Excellent organisational, IT, presentation and oral and written communication skills are essential, as is the ability to plan events, organise coaching courses, manage budgets, monitor and evaluate action plans and other data, co-operate, consult, influence and motivate others and work unsupervised and as part of a team.
