Safeguarding in Sport is a partnership between Children 1st and sportscotland. Children 1st work with governing bodies of sport, local authority sports/leisure departments, leisure trusts and sports clubs.
The aim of Safeguarding in Sport is to help ensure children stay safe and have fun while taking part in sport. We provide advice, consultancy, resources and training for any sports organisation working with children.
Sport can have a very positive influence on children, especially when activities are led by people who place their welfare first.
All adults working with children should know how to respond to a child who may turn to them for help. Our training and resources are developed to build people’s knowledge and confidence in this area.
