I can’t believe it’s nearly the 4th panel already! It’s always great seeing on social media all the amazing things past members have been up to.
Towards the end of my time on the panel I began to look for paid coaching opportunities, and the council who employed me said they had seen me in a sport panel video. I believe they then used it as a recruitment tool with regards to volunteers. The takeaway I suppose was that being on the panel gave me opportunities to share my own experiences, which ultimately lead to employment. It made me appreciate just how huge the reach of the panel is both locally and nationally.
Young people should apply for the panel because it’s a tremendous opportunity to meet people of a similar age who have similar passions and ideas regarding sport. Together you have the power to make real change; an opportunity to implement your own thoughts and opinions as to how you can improve the lives of other young people.
