sportscotland Gaelic Language Plan

At sportscotland we see a Scotland where sport and physical activity are woven into the fabric of our society, positively impacting on our people and communities. There are many parallels between our vision and that of Bòrd na Gàidhlig: to build a sustainable future for Gaelic as a living language in modern Scottish life.

Aig spòrsalba tha sinn a’ faicinn dùthaich Alba far a bheil spòrs agus gnìomhachd chorporra fighte-fuaighte ann an dèanamh ar comainn-shòisealta, a’ toirt buaidh dheimhinneach air ar daoine agus air ar coimhearsnachdan. Tha mòran cho-shìnidhean eadar an lèirsinn againn fhìn agus lèirsinn Bhòrd na Gàidhlig: suidheachadh seasmhach a thogail don Ghàidhlig mu choinneamh an ama ri teachd, mar chànan beò ann am beatha nuadh-aimsireil na h-Alba.

This sense of affinity allows our organisation to have a great clarity of purpose as we introduce and implement our first Gaelic Language Plan (2017-22), through which we aim to support Bòrd na Gàidhlig and meet the duties laid out in the Gaelic Language (Scotland) Act 2005.

Tha am faireachdainn seo de chleamhnas a’ ceadachadh don bhuidhinn againn a bhith fìor shoilleir mu ar n-adhbhar fhad ’s a tha sinn a’ cur an aithne agus a’ toirt a’ chiad Phlana Gàidhlig (2017-22) againn gu buil, tro bheil sinn ag amas air taic a thoirt do Bhòrd na Gàidhlig agus na dleastanasan a choileanadh a tha air am mìneachadh ann an Achd na Gàidhlig (Alba) 2005.
